Local History

On February 22, 1956, Fort Worth Delta Gamma Alumnae hosted a buffet dinner at the home of Lee Etta Hedberg honoring four national officers and 11 pledges to the new colony at TCU.  Officers had been in Fort Worth all week assisting in the formation of the new colony which would be formally pledged February 29, 1956 by Alpha Upsilon chapter (SMU).

The formal installation of Gamma Tau, the 84th Delta Gamma chapter, was held September 28, 1956.  Festivities included a dinner Friday night at River Crest Country Club.  Patroness initiation was Saturday morning at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church.  On Sunday morning the national officers conducted a model meeting and then all attended services at University Christian Church.  Sunday afternoon a reception was held to honor new initiates in pledges.

Gamma Tau Chapter

The Gamma Tau chapter of Delta Gamma at TCU is filled with  extraordinary women.  We strive to be the best we can be in every area of life.

We encourage our members to be active not only in the sorority, but on campus as well. Whether it be on the sidelines of the football field or in a pre-med honors meeting, Delta Gammas can be seen all over campus.

Our dedication to our education showed this past Fall semester. Delta Gamma ranked 3rd out of 11 sororities with a GPA of 3.34!  The hard work our chapter has put toward this is evident.

The success of our chapter wouldn’t be possible without the help of our alumnae.  We are so thankful for their continuous support through all of these years.
