“Becoming a Delta Gamma through the new member process easily was my favorite part of my first semester in college.  I came from out of state, and instantly Delta Gamma became my family away from home.  of the girls welcomed me and supported with so much love.  Whether it was walking to class, or out on weekends, my new sorority sisters were there to talk to, have fun, and help me with anything. All at once you are surrounded by hundreds of girls who genuinely want to get to know you.  To me, that was the best part, because I made so many lifelong friends quickly.  After learning more about the sorority, I know for sure that Delta Gamma is the place I belong.  I have an excellent group of girls to constantly surround myself and make lasting memories with.

“Coming to TCU without anyone I knew, I was extremely worried that making new friends would be hard to do. The second I got my bid from Delta Gamma sorority all of my worries went away. All of the older girls were so helpful.  They really wanted to get to know each new member and were asking us to hang out whenever there was a chance possible.  Becoming friends with my pledge class was an ever better experience due to New Member Retreat. We had a fun night of bonding and getting to know each other.  I met some of my best friends that night and knowing that I have all of these people for the next four years of my life, I know there will never be a dull moment and even tighter friendships made with my beautiful Delta Gamma sisters.”

“Deciding what College or University to attend is a major step in every young adult’s life.  With moving into a dorm and meeting a flood of new people, life can get pretty hectic. After choosing TCU to be my home for the next four years, my next big decision was whether or not to go through recruitment.  My experience was full of ups and downs but it was all worth it in the end because now I am proud to call myself a Delta Gamma.  My amazing pledge class and older peers who want nothing but the best for me is an amazing feeling.  Being from Missouri, I could not ask for a better family away from home.  Delta Gamma is one of the best things to happen to me and I could not be happier to have so many gorgeous and incredible sisters!”

Delta Gamma’s new member process helps new members adjust to sorority life.  It is extremely beneficial to each young woman because it helps her learn more about the sorority as well as develop bonds between sisters.  Many events are planned to help each new member adapt.

Bid Day

The joy of being a Delta Gamma begins with receiving your bid.  After getting a bid, new members meet at the Delta Gamma house to begin the new member process!  The whole chapter goes out to dinner to celebrate the new pledge class.  Activities are planned to start bonding with each other.

Big/Little Sister

One of the most exciting events is receiving a big sister.  Big sisters help their little sisters adapt and transition to sorority life.  Each week for a couple of weeks after a new member receives her bid, she is paired with a different active member to bond with over the course of the week.  At the end of the four weeks, big sisters and little sisters are matched together.  Little sisters find out their big sisters and sorority family in an exciting way at the end of the big sis/little sis week.
